IN MEMORIAM

Charles W. Mills

(January 3, 1951 – September 20, 2021)

Inspiration, mentor, and friend to many of us who work in the Philosophy of Race, Dr. Charles W. Mills passed away on the evening of September 20th, 2021. His courageous, groundbreaking, and insightful work paved the way for many of us to do our own work in this field.

But more, his generous mentorship made it possible for many of us to keep hope when the world made such hope feel impossible. His invaluable friendship gave many of us deep joy and satisfaction.

The organizers of the California Round Table of Philosophy and Race are devastated and mourn his loss deeply. We will have a tribute to him at our annual meeting in October 2021. You can register to attend that meeting here.
